TIANJIN, March 23-Over Seventy student volunteers of CBCGDF and 10 citizens came to Yantuo Park for the exciting City Forest Planting Party. The Party was a combination of e-music, festivals, and environmental conservation. In the party, 10,000 different species of trees were planted by volunteers, guests and DJs to create a natural environment for the trees to compete with each other, following the basic rule of survival of the fittest.

The party was a groundbreaking start for the City Forest project at Yantuo Park in Tianjin. City Forest is a project initiated by Tommy Hendriks and Rainbow Gao of The Mansion Shanghai, a community hub where citizens can network, party, learn from DJs and set up platforms for upcoming events and collaboration. The project is funded by the Yin Yang Music Festival run by them. CBCGDF has been offering consultancy, on-the-ground coordination, various resources and professional knowledge and experience for the project and music festival.

This day, festival-goers were also invited to join the ceremony and contribute to the forest and park designed to draw more youth to spend time outdoors and enjoy nature.

In the party, CBCGDF volunteers expressed their fulfillment and concern for nature. One 10-year-old boy among the planting crowd said the biggest pollution he was experiencing every day was air pollution and he agreed that hands-on actions like tree planting were indeed necessary. One foreign guest from a Beijing university expressed her gratitude and recognition for the years efforts that China has been putting and she advocated that people should do more such things in daily life.
