In order to respond to the call of the Party and the state for the construction of ecological civilization, vigorously promote green sustainable development, implement the green development concept of " Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", earnestly implement the opinions of the General Office of the State Council on Strengthening the Protection of the Yangtze River Aquatic Biology, protect the aquatic biodiversity, and encourage enterprises and the public to support the cause of aquatic biology protection. The CBD COP15 will be held in Yunnan, China. The United Nations Decade Framework for Biodiversity after 2020 will be born in China. The model of anti-electric fishing is an excellent case in China. It not only reflects the efforts and great achievements of "folk-government-enterprise-stakeholders" in biodiversity conservation but also shows how modern science and technology and big data can contribute to nature conservation and promote the mainstream of biodiversity.

 

The CBCGDF Anti-Electric Fishing Collaboration Center will hold the Anti-Electric Fishing Congress 2019 in Beijing on March 28 to discuss the protection and green development of aquatic biological resources, and to welcome the positive attention and participation from the industry.

 

Conference background

 

With the development of human society, the excessive and improper exploitation and use of natural resources, many species have gradually disappeared, and the ecological environment is facing serious challenges, which directly affects the survival and development of human beings. Among them, one of the most harmful factors to the aquatic ecological environment is illegal fishing such as electric fishing, poison fishing and etc.

 

The purpose of the meeting

(1) It is hoped that under the new situation, the government, social organizations and the public will explore new ways to effectively protect fishery resources and promote the participation of all sectors of society in the protection of aquatic biodiversity.

(2) Using the information network to establish a large data platform to support the analysis, research, and decision-making of government departments.

(3) Analysis and suggestions on the status of fishery resources protection.

(4) Explore the fulfillment of corporate social responsibility and sustainable development of fisheries to achieve altogether wins.

 

Conference features

 

(1) Multi-party participation. Government departments, civil society organizations, enterprises, scientific research institutions, experts and scholars jointly participate.

 

(2) Live broadcasting. Invite the media to broadcast the whole life, the environmental partners who are not there can still hear the voice of experts.

Team strength

The Anti-electric Fishing Collaboration Center established by CBCGDF has long been committed to cooperating with relevant departments and joining public forces to combat illegal fishing. At present, 14801 anti-electric fishing volunteers have joined in, and 51 volunteer service stations have been set up, covering 12 provinces and more than 70 counties and municipalities in the country. The center has assisted fishery authorities more than 10 provinces in cracking nearly 2706 cases of illegal electric fishing. It has cooperated with fishery authorities in carrying out 1730 joint law enforcement operations. The number of volunteer participants has reached 35,100 in the whole year and the patrol mileage is more than 370,000 kilometers.
