Dr Kent Nnadozie, the Secretary of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGRFA) and a Senior Advisor to the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF),published an article in the Chinese version of China Daily on July 3rd 2023: 'Protecting Biodiversity: Taking Practical Action Beyond Consensus.'


In his article, he highlights the unprecedented loss of biodiversity and the urgent task of protecting it for all humanity. Against this backdrop, the international community has established international conventions such as the Convention on Biological Diversity and the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture. The “Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework” (GBF) adopted at the 15th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity sets clear goals for safeguarding Earth's ecosystems. Global collaboration and concrete actions are essential to ensure food security, establish sustainable and resilient food systems, and create a world where humans and nature coexist harmoniously and prosper.
