Razan Al Mubarak was elected president on Wednesday at the IUCN World Conservation Congress in Marseille, France. She is the managing director of the Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund and managing director of Environment Agency Abu Dhabi. Ms. Al Mubarak is only the second woman elected to lead the organization in its 72-year history and is the first president from West Asia.

The International Department of the CBCGDF sent a letter to the UAE Embassy in China, expressing its gratitude to the UAE Minister of Environment, Dr. Thanibin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, for introducing Ms. Razan’s work during the previous visit. CBCGDF also stated that her election is of great significance. It will better promote world environmental protection and environmental governance.

On September 10, the UAE Embassy sent a reply. Ambassador H.E. Dr. Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri expressed his gratitude to Dr. Zhou Jinfeng and his friends for their support and trust in Ms. Razan. Ambassador Ali said that the UAE has always attached importance to environmental protection and green development, and the UAE Embassy in China will also implement these values. The UAE Embassy in China thanks the letter and looks forward to meeting again in the future.
