The International Union for Conservation of Nature World Conservation Congress (IUCN WCC) will be held in Marseille, France, September 3 to 11, 2021. The IUCN World Conservation Congress is the world's largest environmental and conservation conference and the union's top decision-making body. This conference has been postponed several times due to the pandemic and has added more challenges than previous sessions. Accordingly, the conference will have both online and offline channels to provide members with more options for participation.

As a member of the IUCN, the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) will send delegations to the conference.

Chen Junyan, a member of the international department of CBCGDF, major in Management Information System at Aix-Marseille University, France, and served as a consultant of the Chinese Students and Scholars Association of Marseille. He has been paying close attention to China's environmental protection and has promoted international cultural and people-to-people exchanges. 

The IUCN WCC conference is divided into seven themes: Landscapes, Freshwater, Oceans, Climate change, Rights and Governance, Economic and financial systems, Knowledge, Innovation, and technology.

To promote China's deep participation in global environmental governance, better promote biodiversity conservation and sustainable development, Lei Wenting will work with other delegation members to record and collect information materials, actively speak out, tell good China's story, and convey China's positive energy.

CBCGDF sent a delegation to attend the IUCN WCC conference, supported by the China Association for Science and Technology's comprehensive International Organization Affairs 2021. The project aims to support China's scientists in leadership positions in the critical international nongovernmental science and technology, improve the scientists involved in the international folk organization decision making and management of science and technology ability and the ability to carry out international academic exchanges, to elevate the status of Chinese scientists in the global technology and influence, make full use of international nongovernmental science and technology resources, It serves the strategic goal of building an innovation-oriented country and the overall situation of national diplomacy.
