The third Saturday in September is recognized as International Coastal Cleanup Day (ICCD) when volunteers worldwide work with organizations to clean up Marine debris from local beaches. This year's International Coastal Cleanup Day falls on September 18, which coincides with China's traditional Mid-Autumn Festival and is a working day before the short holiday. Given this, CBCGDF has planned a public welfare activity to collect garbage from underwater, land, coastal, river and lake shoreline areas together with volunteers around the world.

Theme: No Plastic@71%: Garbage Picking and Sorting for International Coastal Cleanup Day

1. Warm-upfrom 2021 Sep 11- Sep 12

Sep 11

Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of CBCGDF, delivers a keynote   speech at Bo'ao Tourism Development Forum and launches the event

BROCA volunteers of Qingdao, Haikou, Sanya, Wanning jointly  carry out underwater and land garbage collection

2. Formal activityfrom 2021 Sep 19- Sep 21

On Land: CBCGDF CCAfa volunteers from across the country pick up and sort garbage on beaches, river and lake banks

Underwater: PADI affiliated diving centers and volunteers pick up and sort underwater garbage

 

3. Data statistics

The picking up activity will be combined with garbage classification, and all participating partners will be invited to classify and weigh the picked up garbage according to the following four categories, as an important part of the statistical analysis of the activity data: 

a.Recycling 

b.Kitchen Waste 

c.Hazardous Waste 

d.Other Rubbish
