  • Attendance of Working Group on the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework(WG2020-2)          

Date: Feb 24-29, 2020

The CBCGDF actively participates in the Convention on Biological Diversity's Post 2020 Biodiversity Framework consultative process. We have submitted proposals and actively participated in the process by the CBD as an observer to the Convention. For example, the CBCGDF delegate attended the working group meeting on the post-2020 global biodiversity framework in Rome in Feb 2020.


  • Founding of RCEP 4C Platform(Civil Society, Culture, Communication, Cooperation)

Date: Dec.2020-Ongoing

The CBCGDF launched the RCEP 4C platform to promote civil collaboration between societies and people shortly after 15 countries sign the RCEP. The webinar series discusses a wide range of subjects, including the balance between ecological and economic development and the environmental impact of lowering tariffs(e.g., animal welfare).


  • Proposals to IUCN World Conservation Congress(IUCN WCC)

 Date: Nov.2020

  1. CBCGDF proposed a Motion named "Ecological connectivity conservation in the post-2020 global biodiversity framework: from local to international levels" to IUCN WCC 2020 and officially adopted as its Resolution WCC-2020-Res-073.

  2. Worked together with other NGOs, a proposal called "Wildlife-friendly linear infrastructure" on IUCN WCC 2020 has been officially adopted and formally became a resolution.

  3. In Nov 2020, the Motion by CBCGDF on Adopting Traditional Medicine to achieve social and environmental sustainability had been officially adopted by the IUCN WCC. (https://www.iucncongress2020.org/motion/108)

 

  • Attendance of Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS COP13)

 Date: Feb.2020

 CBCGDF attended the CMS COP13 hosted three side events. As a Partner to the CMS, the CBCGDF actively advocate the conservation of migratory species and called for promoting connectivity in major construction.

 

  • People's participation and awareness promotion.

Dozens of communities joined the Community Conservation Areas (CCAfa) launched by the CBCGDF to carry on grassroots-level conservation work. The CBCGDF raises funds from the general public to support the projects. With multi-stakeholders participation as another effective area-based conservation measures' (OECMs) (OECMs)approach, to help realize the UN Biodiversity Target.

 

  • Mobilization of females, youth, communities and indigenous people to participate in biodiversity conservation.

  1. CBCGDF has been setting up 11 CBCGDF Green Children Bases around the countries, promoting science publicity and ecological education.

  2. CBCGDF co-organized the Female Scientists Forum in International Conference on Genomics (ICG-15) and discussed the damage on female scientists during COVID-19 and how to break the glass ceiling as female scientists.

  3. On CCAfa Black Crested Gibbon Protected Area·Wuliang Mountain, the YI minority has been protecting local species and getting ecological value since 2019.
