Recently, Zhou Jinfeng, Deputy Secretary-General of the CBCGDF, discussed the schedule and roadmap of the carbon-neutral work with Mr. Liu Zhenmin, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations, Vice Governor of Shanxi, as well as relevant scientists and entrepreneurs in Beijing.

During the discussion, Dr. Zhou particularly introduced the effect of “Green Material” (绿材) in the function of carbon neutrality. For example, our clothes are mainly made of fossil raw materials now. In nature, many materials, whether incinerated or rotted, are a type of carbon release.

Green Materials refers to using wastes as raw materials for synthetic biology to make available materials today. The increase of the share of green materials will be an important step towards carbon neutrality in the future.
