Recently, the 11th Journal of New Urbanization in 2019 issued Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), with important opinions on the protection of agricultural biodiversity. Agriculture is an important industrial sector in the national economy, which belongs to the primary industry. Agriculture is widely distributed. Except for the two poles and all the deserts, almost all of the earth's surface can be used for agricultural production. The development of industrialized agriculture, marked by the input of a large number of materials and energy, has promoted the substantial increase of productivity but also brought serious biodiversity crisis and social problems such as energy depletion, environmental pollution, and ecological imbalance. In this paper, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng systematically expounds that the protection of agricultural biodiversity is an important part and main content of the construction of ecological civilization, on African classical swine fever and the current rise of pork price, the invasion of agricultural pests “Spodoptera frugiperda”, the protection of grain and crop genetic resources and other aspects.
