To promote the importance of green development as an assessment index, CBCGDF Chairman Hu Deping invited experts to discuss the preparation of the Gross Ecosystem Product (GEP) report for Pu’er City yesterday. During the meeting, the New Anjiang Ecological compensation mechanism proposed by President Xi which is the nation’s leading attempt to take the lead in providing ecological services to areas where ecological services are benefited through payments of hundreds of millions of ecological compensation fees was discussed.

After hearing reports on the GEP from delegates present, Chairman Hu Deping presented a few points stating that more focus should be laid on the difference between GDP and GEP. Also Chairman Xie Boyang gave an important instruction on the preparation of the report saying that the next phase of work should be the promotion and application of GEP to solve practical problem.
