On the morning of July 28, 2023, Technical Seminar on Appraisal and Assessment of Ecological Environmental Damage and High-Quality Development in Northeast China was held in Changchun, Jilin Province with the goals to build a beautiful China where man and nature coexist harmoniously, to create a new situation for ecological civilization, to strengthen the technical exchange and legal system construction of judicial appraisal of ecological environmental damage, to innovate the theory and method of appraisal and evaluation of ecological environmental damage, to fight the “defense war” of black soil in Northeast China, and to promote the ecological environmental protection and high-quality development in Northeast China. The Legal Working Committee of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) acted as one of the guiding institutions.
At the seminar, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of CBCGDF, delivered a report entitled “Biodiversity and High-Quality Development”. The report mainly focused on the current situation and crisis of biodiversity, high-quality development, and biodiversity protection required by high-quality development, and elaborated in detail with a series of environmental public interest litigation cases filed by the Legal Working Committee of CBCGDF.
