The United Nations launched the "Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI)". China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), in conjunction with the Securities Association of China, the China Development Research Institute, the Chinese Society for Sustainable Development, and the International Fund for China’s Environment(IFCE), jointly formulated the China Principles for Responsible Investment (CNPRI). Compared with the six principles of UNPRI, CNPRI have established seven principles, followed by the first principle: ecological civilization and green development.

ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) is a developmental achievement of human beings. We should actively adopt it for its whole set of mechanisms formed in the exploration and practice of modern enterprises in the past few decades. We think ESG should be used for us, but at the same time, we should also actively make some adjustments by localizing it according to the actual domestic situation and demand, thus making it better.

We have a few basic thoughts on this:

First, we must put ecological civilization first, and we must put green development of five major developments first.

Second, is ESG in China geared towards investment banks? I think this is something we can adjust and change from the starting point. We are not just dealing with investment banks, but all companies should use this tool to carry out ESG so that it could has more extensive and grand significance.

Third, more departments need to jointly issue action initiatives, requiring enterprises to integrate ecological environment and green development in production and development, which can better promote enterprises to do ESG well.
