Maximizing the Recycling of Used Clothes: CBCGDF Used Clothes Recycling Program Donates Used Clothes as Fuel for Power Generation
2022/4/13 15:41:00 本站

The recycling program carried out by CBCGDF in various provinces and cities has received more and more public attention & participation, more and more people are putting their old clothes into the recycling bins.

So how will those used clothes be handled after being recycled?

Sorting and disinfection for re-donation can be the top choice for reuse of old clothes. Being cleaned and disinfected, the used clothes were then packed and donated to the areas in need. For example, before the Spring Festival in 2022, the project team made a donation to Meigu County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province.

In addition, recycled used clothing can be reprocessed for use as raw material for the production of felt for road maintenance, etc., and as fuel for incineration plants.

The 50 tons of used clothes and other textiles that cannot be donated will be sent to the waste incineration power plant for environmental treatment.

Waste-to-energy incineration began in the 1960s and has become popular in developed countries such as Europe, America and Japan. It is a means of treating domestic waste in a superior way to landfills; at the same time, it is more environmentally friendly as a raw material to save and replace coal resources.

CBCGDF Used Clothes Recycling Project fully explores the various reusable properties of used clothes through various means, so that these unused and discarded used clothes can be used again, either as warm-hearted donations, reprocessing, or as fuel for power generation.

The project is doing its best to realize the secondary use of used clothes, and it calls for the public following the concept of "Saving is the best way of environmental protection", hoping that the public can avoid over-consumption, which leads to the purchase of a large amount of clothes that easily go unused, and can also effectively reduce the production of used clothes and other household waste, which is a more fundamental way to save resources and protect the environment.701baa6b0e42f87616fa2b2416f760bf_640_wx_fmt=jpeg&wxfrom=5&wx_lazy=1&wx_co=1.jpg
