Food-related environmental protection has always been an important aspect of CBCGDF, which has carried out many cases and project research.

For example, regarding the excessive packaging of mooncakes, CBCGDF Research Department has been investigating it for three years and has proposed amendments to relevant standards. In 2020, it filed an environmental public interest lawsuit against Xinghualou in Shanghai, demanding that it correct the problem.

During the Two Sessions, the Legal Department of CBCGDF also further proposed to relax the qualifications of public interest litigation subjects in the consumer sector, such as food and medicine, to promote green development of the food and medicine sector by further protecting consumers' environmental rights and interests.

In addition, the CBCGDF has always maintained close contact with the United Nations FAO and is committed to promoting the benefit-sharing of germplasm genetic resources and the protection of agricultural biodiversity. The CBCGDF is also the observer of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGRFA).

"The development of all work in the new era, including the food sector, should be carried out based on ecological civilization and is closely related to the work of CBCGDF. Whether it is poverty alleviation or rural revitalization, green development and biodiversity protection are inseparable." said Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of CBCGDF when meeting Guo Honglei, chairman and principal of Beijing Jinri Sunny Vocational Skills Training School. He further emphasized the necessity and importance of establishing the committee.

Guo Honglei has been engaged in food and nutrition-related industries for a long time. According to him, his training school has been approved by the China Employment Training Technical Guidance Center of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security as a cooperative unit of the "Food Business Management" and "Food Business Marketing" CETTIC projects. Since then, it has trained and delivered a large number of talents for the food industry.

Regarding the current shortage of nutritionists in the food industry that Guo Honglei stated, Zhou Jinfeng said, "We emphasize the development of green civilization and ecological development. Ecological civilization education must also be included in relevant courses and training, and green and low-carbon concepts must be integrated to become a more international brand. "

After the meeting, the two parties expressed their hope to integrate each other's valuable resources. In this critical opportunity prepared by the CBCGDF Green Food Standards Committee, they will further exert their strength to promote the protection of the diversity of agricultural products with regional characteristics and promote the sustainable development of the food sector in the ecological era.
