International Pangolin Research Consortium (IPaRC) was founded in 2012 at the University of Malaya in Malaysia. The founder and principal researcher is Dr. Zhu Shaohe. The council sequenced and studied the pangolin genome and transcriptome and completed the world's first genome-wide map of pangolins. The results of this research will help humans to gain a deeper understanding of the immunity of this endangered species pangolin. Its members also participate in the International Federation of Vertebrate Genomes (G10K), and its research level is internationally leading.
