On February 26, the invitation from Guangxi Forestry Bureau (abbreviate as Guangxi Forestry), the "Pangolin Girl" of the CBCGDF participated in the wild investigation as pangolin conservation expert.

The investigation was organized by Guangxi Forestry Department. Five wild survival reserve sites suitable for pangolin in Guangxi were recommended for investigation team. The experts who participated in the wild investigate included Dr. Meng from Guangxi Forestry Survey and Design Institute and Professor Zhou from Guangxi Normal University, besides the head of Pangolin Protection Working Group of CBCGDF and the "Pangolin Girl" Sophia. The main purpose of this wild scientific investigate is to find the most suitable woodland for wild pangolin in Guangxi.

After receiving the formal invitation and before departure, Sophia made full preparations for this, and specifically consulted pangolin research experts of CBCGDF, as well as the relevant researchers of Taiwan pangolin on wild land. Taiwan experts suggest that the quality of wild habitats is an important factor to consider whether it is suitable for wild release, but more attention should be paid to the experiment and observation of pangolin individuals suitable for a certain period of time before wild release, so as to cultivate or determine their survival ability in the wild, and then it will improve the success rate in order to achieve the goal of saving wild populations.

It is well known that eight pangolins, including the manis pentadactyla, are globally endangered species, and are also the most threatened mammals in the world by illegal trade. In order to protect this endangered species, the Pangolin Conservation Working Group of CBCGDF has been working hard for the protection in recent years from different aspects, such as combating illegal trade, proposing policy advice on pangolin protection, establishing folk pangolin protection sites, and conducting relative wild research. As the frontier of pangolin protection in China, Guangxi has been paid much attention to its related protection work. It is hoped that this wild investigation will turn a new page for the protection of pangolins in China and even in the world.
