March 1st marks the International Day of the Seal. Spotted Seal (Phoca largha) distributes in Northen China's Bohai & Yellow Sea areas. It's the only pinniped marine mammal that reproduces in the waters of China. Its population in China has significant genetic research value. Spotted Seal is listed as a National 2nd Class Protected Animals. To protect the endangered species, CBCGDF has set up “China Conservation Area for Spotted Seals-Panjin, to mobilize public participation for the betterment of the species' conservation.
