Yesterday Shenzhen Customs announced the apprehension of 11,900 kgs of smuggled pangolin scales. The question on everyone's mind is where are these pangolins from and how many pangolins were killed for the purpose of these scale harvesting? The CBCGDF (中国绿发会) Pangolin Action Group plans to investigate this issue.

Saddened by the 25,000 pangolins, an official letter was sent today by CBCGDF to Shenzhen Customs requesting information disclosure on a related report. The world's most illegally-traded mammals are now on the brink of extinction. Earlier this year the CBCGDF Wildlife Protection Volunteers discovered people who ate pangolins by manhunt, and 3-4 times of undercover investigation were made by our Pangolin Action Group to southern provinces. To aware/encourage/empower/the people, the CBCGDF also set up 2 CCAfas for Pangolins at Hunan and Guangxi provinces (their traditional distribution areas) respectively.

We want to make 2017 a turning point for the species.
