On May 31, 2023, Cuiweiyuan Kindergarten of Chizhou City, Anhui Province held its first science and technology festival to celebrate the International Children’s Day. During the event, the Community Conservation Area for Tundra Swan (Cygnus columbianus) at Yueliang Lake of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), which also serves as the innovative Wang Shi Bird-loving & Powerline Protection Workstation of Anhui Branch of State Grid, was invited to decorate a “small bird-watching house”. Mr. Wang Shi, head of the CCAfa at Yueliang Lake and one of the “100 best ecological volunteers” in China, along with young ecological guides of the Area introduced knowledge about birds and scientific common sense of loving and protecting birds to the children, satisfied their curiosity and thirst for knowledge, and planted seeds of “caring for birds and protecting ecology” in their young hearts.

As the leader of the innovative Wang Shi Bird-loving & Powerline Protection Workstation of Anhui Branch of State Grid, he and the volunteer service team for bird-loving have been working hard to explore the innovative measures of "bird-powerline double protection". At the same time, they have also carried out knowledge dissemination activities in schools. It is reported that this is the first time that the workstation has held such activities in the kindergarten after the primary and secondary schools and universities in Chizhou City. The activities for caring and protecting birds have been well received by kindergarten teachers, students and parents.
