CBCGDF BCON Working Group applauded the manual removal of snails, and suggested the promotion of biological control and resource utilization in a letter to the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau of Yuhang District in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.

It is reported that under the deployment of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau of Yuhang District, Hangzhou City, according to the Measures for the Prevention and Control of Pomacea Canaliculata in Yuhang District, the prevention and control of Pomacea Canaliculata in Yuhang District is being carried out in an orderly manner.

Biodiversity Conservation in Our Neighborhood(BCON) Working Group of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) noticed that the area mainly uses manual cleaning to control the Pomacea Canaliculata, and set up a beneficial agricultural production service for this purpose. Professional cooperatives purchase a large number of Pomacea Canaliculata found in sub-district jurisdictions, and then collect them uniformly by relevant staff. CBCGDF highly appreciates the physical control method of manual removal, which effectively avoids a series of environmental problems caused by traditional chemical control, such as water and soil pollution, destruction of biodiversity, and disturbance of ecological balance.
