On July 31, when a China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) volunteer from Anyang, Henan Province was passing through Neihuang County, found a lot of bird nets in an orchard. There were dead birds on the nets, and some other wild birds were entangled or hung on the nets and struggling to death. The volunteer immediately called the police, and the Forest Police of Neihuang County quickly dispatched police.

Forest police and volunteer saw bird nets everywhere in the orchard. Some were erected in a large area of the orchard, while others were erected very low, laying under large trees, or close to the ground. The net is about 1.3 meters above the ground.

Unfortunately, when these bird nets were discovered, some wild birds had been killed for a long time, and some were stuck on the nets. The volunteer cleared the bird nets on the spot, and at the same time quickly rescued the wild birds that were still trapped on the net to survive.

According to statistics, the CBCGDF volunteer removed a total of 12 bird nets in this orchard that day, and discovered two short-eared owls, which are national key protected wild animals, dead on the spot, and more than ten animals protected by the state that are beneficial or have important economic and scientific research value.

For the live wild birds rescued at the scene, including two turtledoves, one butcher-bird, and a national second-class protected animal Chinese Sparrowhawk, after inspection, it was determined that the injuries were not serious and were released to nature at the scene.

The forest police in Neihuang County had a scorching sun, sweating like rain, and it was past noon before removing the bird nets. During this time, the leader of the Forest Police called to arrange working meals for the volunteer. The volunteer could not stay for a long time, but expressed gratitude to the Neihuang Forest Police.
