At noon today, a dead seawater finless porpoise was found near the Bohai Bay in Tangshan, Hebei Province. It is East Asia finless porpoise and the cause of death remains to be investigated.

The finless porpoise is about 70 cm long. After emergency communication, the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) volunteer reflected the situation. Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, the Secretary-General of CBCGDF gave instructions:

1. In response to the current status of the protection of marine finless porpoises, we plan to contact the gene company to carry out sampling analysis; at the same time, other relevant scientific research institutions are welcome to participate in the research.

2. If the conditions are suitable, CBCGDF hopes to make it into a popular science specimen, and carry out scientific research work, cherish the wildlife resources, and give full play to the maximum value.

3. If the body is seriously damaged, in view of environmental safety and health issues, it is recommended to cremate and bury on the spot and implement harmless treatment.

The CBCGDF volunteer considered keeping it in cold storage to prepare for subsequent research.
