Recently, some netizens posted that the book “Animal Encyclopedia” published by Wuhan University Press contains improper expression about “edible game”.

"Civets are treasures all over their bodies. Their meat can be eaten, and they are rare in China's long history. Their fat is a rare high-grade raw material in the production of cosmetics and can also heal burns. Their fur can be used to make gloves, their tail hairs and needle hairs can be made into brushes." The introduction of the civet in this children's book reflected by some netizens has sparked protests from netizens.

Some netizens lamented: “It is hoped that the habit of eating game will gradually disappear in the education from generation to generation, but it was only found that the popular science books for children were full of such vulgar content.”
