With the in-depth progress of China's ecological civilization construction in various fields and global climate change, biodiversity protection and other issues have attracted more and more attention at home and abroad. The protection of forests attracted much attention, as it is an important natural resource that is closely related to the above-mentioned issues. Protecting forest resources and expanding the green space of the country are important to the sustainable development in economic society. With a sound rule of law to protect thousands of mountains, it is time to amend the forest law.

Recently, the revised draft of Forest Law was first submitted to the National People's Congress Standing Committee for consideration. On the occasion of the amendment of the Forest Law, the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) will host a Forest Law revision seminar on 25th July and invite environmental law experts and representatives from relevant international and domestic institutions to participate in the discussion.

How to implement the principle of ecological priority and protection priority through perfecting legislation? How to coordinate the relationship between protection and utilization? How to implement the policy of deep participation in global environmental governance and establish a supervision mechanism according to market laws? In the current general situation of China, the situation is "lack of forests, fragile ecology, fewer forests, and correspondingly lower quality". After the seminar, the CBCGDF will submit the revised opinions which recommend by these experts to the relevant departments. We also welcome people from the community to concern about forest protection and legal construction and make suggestions.
