On June 20th, Chairman Liu Changfa and his delegation from the China Society of Building Materials Industry Economy visited the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) to discuss and reach consensus with Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, the Secretary-General of the CBCGDF, on the promotion of cooperation in ecological environment management and construction. Both sides unanimously stated that the transition from ecological environment restoration to ecological environment management and construction is an important change in deepening green development, understanding and improving the quality and level of ecological environment protection.

Chairman Liu Changfa pointed out that the building materials industry has always attached importance to green development planning. Correspondingly, China is internationally leading in the technical research and industrialization of solid waste (such as fly ash, slag, construction waste, etc.). Taking advantage of this advantage, as a basic industry, the building materials serve the development of the ecological environment, and provide green empowerment for downstream industries is a great article in the transition from ecological environment restoration to ecological environment management. Ecological environmental management is a comprehensive systematic project, and cross-border integration is definitely an inevitable approach. China Society of Building Materials Industry Economy is willing to work with CBCGDF to play the role of top think tanks, and to gather more extensive cross-border resources, focusing on outstanding practical issues (such as river regulation in flood and disaster prevention, Illegal mining and deforestation, landslide, etc.). With the concept and method of ecological management, the support of the industry, both sides strive to fundamentally reverse some simple restoration-based ecological environment protection methods. They can initiate the projects and researches in advance, and in the process of gradual improvement, the promotion of ecological environment management and construction will move towards systematization.

Dr. Zhou pointed out that CBCGDF will mainly focus on and promote ecological, environmental and green development. In terms of the circular economy, there is a big gap between China and developed countries. For example, in the utilization of industrial solid waste, the Netherlands has reached 80% while China has only 5%. Therefore, the expansion of the building materials industry to ecological environment management is a large field. Building materials industry should turn to green development, actively participate in domestic and international transformation, and use green building materials to drive a series of ecological environment management. CBCGDF is willing to cooperate with the China Society of Building Materials Industry Economy to promote the improvement and construction of the ecological environment. Both sides will jointly build a cooperation platform, starting with focusing on a prominent ecological problem, gathering relevant academicians and experts' resources, grasping the stage results of basic research, constantly enriching and improving, and gradually building a broad cross-border and systematic work system in the process of continual improvement.

Both sides agreed that people should grasp the opportunity of green transformation and cooperate to promote the transformation of ecological environment restoration to ecological environment management.
