The "Top 10 Cases to Promote the Rule of Law Process in 2017" is co-sponsored by the Supreme People's Court and CCTV. Both CBCGDF's "toxic runway" and "Tengger desert pollution" cases were nominated.


In April 2017, CBCGDF's "toxic runway" case has been concluded. The filing and conclusion of the case aroused the great attention of the public and effectively deterred by the community of a decade-long campus toxic runway problem. It provided a great boost to the fundamental solution to the issue of "toxic runway" on the campus. It provided a strong guarantee to solve the concerns of the parents and to allow millions of school children live healthily and happily. Also, it resolved the resulting numerous social conflicts and instability.

Similarly, the "Tengger desert pollution" case, which has its typical meaning, has experienced the first instance and the second instance trial being rejected. CBCGDF persevered, and eventually, the case was finally put on record through the supreme court judicial decision. The filing and conclusion of the case fundamentally solved the issue of the main qualification of China's social organizations participating in the environmental public interest litigation (EPIL). It finally confirmed that the eight defendants paid nearly 600 million yuan of environmental damages and brought good benefits to the healthy development of the local environment and people's life protection. Nevertheless, it would also play a great warning role of the environmental violations.
