Lincang City, Yunnan Province publicly solicited opinions on the regulations on the management of excavation of sand and gravel, and widely solicited opinions and suggestions from all walks of life. The BCON working group of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation actively responded to the call, and after careful research and discussion, put forward 5 suggestions for the draft.
Suggestion 5: Sand excavation in rivers should follow the three axioms of pollution treatment to ensure that the ecological environment is not damaged and fully publicized
Reason: Clear waters and green mountains are as good as mountains of gold and silver. In the context of the current ecological civilization, we should pursue the coordinated development of ecological, economic and social benefits. Human economic activities should be based on the premise of protecting the environment, protecting biodiversity, and protecting clear waters and green mountains.
Human activities imposed on nature should follow the three axioms of pollution treatment (non-spread, non-harm, and full publicity) to ensure that sand mining in rivers is orderly and well-managed without causing damage to the ecological environment and biodiversity.
