Agrochemicals are used to prevent and control diseases, insects, grasses, rats and other harmful organisms that might endanger agriculture and forestry, and to regulate the growth of plants and insects. Scientific and rational use of agrochemicals is an important factor to ensure the effectiveness and safety of farming, to guarantee the quality and safety of agricultural products and the safety of people and animals, and to protect agricultural and forestry production and ecological environment.
Labels and instructions of agrochemicals reflect the performance, characteristics, quality and other important information of such products, and are used to guide users to operate correctly and use them safely and scientifically. Therefore, the regulated management of agrochemical labels and instructions is very important.
In order to regulate the supervision and management of labels and instructions of agrochemicals, and ensure the safety and effectiveness of such usage, the Department of Agrochemical Management of the Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Affairs of the People’s Republic of China issued a letter on June 14, 2023 to solicit opinions on the Measures for the Management of Agrochemical Labels and Instructions (Revised Draft for Comments) and call for suggestions on the revised draft.
The Legal Working Committee of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) attached great importance to this. Taking into account the Regulations on Agrochemical Management, users, environment for usage and other aspects, CBCGDF proposed 17 amendments to the revised draft and submitted them to the Department of Agrochemical Management of the Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Affairs.
