The lawsuit filed by China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) against Northwest Rubber Company of Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum is scheduled to be heard on April 27.

According to Article 2 of Provisions of the Supreme People’s Court on the Live Recording and Broadcasting of Court Trial Activities by People’s Courts, the people’s courts can select cases that are highly concerned by the public, have great social influence and have the significance in legal publicity and education to be broadcast live or recorded.

Recently, CBCGDF applied to Xianyang Intermediate People’s Court for live broadcast of VOCs Pollution Case against Northwest Rubber Company. Because Fenwei Plain is the key area of air pollution prevention and control, and it is also the main battlefield of the blue-sky defense war. Moreover, this case is a key case pointed out by the Third Central Ecological Environmental Protection Inspector Group. Therefore, this case should be made public as a typical case of air pollution in Fenwei Plain. At the same time, it is hoped that through the public hearing of this case, the awareness of environmental protection of production enterprises and the public will be improved, so as to reduce illegal emissions, improve the quality of atmospheric environment and ensure the public’s satisfaction with the blue sky.
