On the morning of January 17, 2023, the CBCGDF Invasive Alien Species Working Group held a meeting to summarize the work in 2022, discuss and deploy the work plan for 2023.
The meeting first reviewed the work carried out in 2022, such as the progress of the survey of invasive alien species in rural Hunan carried out from June to October 2022, the scientific education program on invasive alien species in a college in Hangzhou, and the monitoring and assessment of Asian and African desert locusts released by a team of experts from the Institute of Remote Sensing, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The person in charge made a summary and report of the work.
Then the work to do in 2023 was deployed, including but not limited to:
(1) Continuing the survey of invasive alien species in rural areas.
(2) Continuing to upload species observation data to the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF).
(3) Collaborating with local primary and secondary schools to support youth education and scientific communication of invasive alien species.
(4) Generating academic papers.
(5) As a national level society, serve experts in the field and give full play to the function of "home of science and technology workers".
(6) To make good branding activities, and plan to hold a parallel forum related to invasive alien species at the International Biodiversity Conference 2023 (IBCOP) from Montreal to the World People.
(7) To serve national scientific decision-making, and carry out policy advice and expert consultation services.
