"Bushmeat" is a term commonly used in Africa to refer to the meat of gorillas, chimpanzees, mountain pigs and other wild animals that live in the African bush. The bushmeat trade has become increasingly rampant in some parts of the world, posing significant risks and challenges to the environment, public health, and food safety. Although many of the wild animals that have unfortunately become "bushmeat" inhabit UNESCO World Heritage sites, they cannot escape from armed poachers from time to time. There is an urgent need to strengthen human awareness to respect, confirm to and protect nature.

Bushmeat is also a hot topic of global concern regarding illegal wildlife trade. In order to build a shared community of life on earth, the Anti-Poaching Working Group of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), together with The International Conservation & Biodiversity Team (ICBT), will hold an online seminar on "Wildlife Trade in the Democratic Republic of Congo - Bushmeat" on May 12, 2022 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. The session will be broadcast live by CBCGDF Media.

To practice “Green Webinars Standards” is among the highlights of this conference. “Green Webinars Standards”, advanced by Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of CBCGDF, is a great initiative for mitigation and adaptation of Climate Change by reducing carbon emissions & biodiversity loss to achieve green and sustainable development.

Hundreds of millions of cell phones are currently obsolete worldwide, and the production of cell phones brings huge carbon emissions, environmental costs, biodiversity loss, and consumer footprints. The dismantling and disposal of discarded cell phones brings further environmental costs. The excessive consumption of resources and the rapid iteration are a result of human’s rush for industrial civilization.

Participants promise to use green energy and green electronic devices as much as possible, including lighting, mobile phones, computers, etc., while ensuring the best quality of the conference. Hereby we advocate the full life-cycle recycling and responsible use, as well as the non-excessive upgrading and obsolescence of electronic devices.

Practice green behaviors before, during and after the conference, and strive to become an example of a green network conference, reducing the carbon footprint and the biodiversity footprint in whatever way we can.
