For a long time, China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) has been committed to promoting openness, trust and cooperation with the international science and technology community, strengthening international exchanges of talents, building a world-class society and making contributions to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

On April 27, 2022, CBCGDF appointed Harris A. Lewin as international advisor in recognition of his excellent contributions in the field of genetic biodiversity conservation. Harris A. Lewin said he looked forward to working with CBCGDF to make the world a better, safer and greener place.

Harris A. Lewin is an American biologist and professor of evolution and ecology at the University of California, Davis. He was elected to the National Academy of Sciences(NAS) in 2012 April and chairs the working group for the Earth Biogenome Project(EBP) that aims to sequence, catalogue and characterize the genomes of about 1.5 million known eukaryotic biodiversity on earth within 10 years.

 

CBCGDF is very grateful to Harris A. Lewin for his outstanding contribution in the field of genetic biodiversity conservation. As the second Chinese academic member of the EBP, CBCGDF will continue to contribute to benefiting mankind, protecting biodiversity and ecosystem.
