I would like to express my appreciation to China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation for organizing this event on the occasion of the Earth Day.? CBCGDF is making invaluable contributions to the planet by raising awareness?? about the key environmental issues and biodiversity conservation.
Every year ?Earth Day serves as a conscious reminder of the vulnerability of our planet.? It is also a reminder of our responsibilities as individual, as a society, and as a nation. Our actions of today will have an impact on our future. The theme for this year—investing in planet—therefore signifies the need?? to make timely and collective interventions?? to leave a livable planet for our future generations.?
Ladies and gentlemen, China and Pakistan are committed to play a duo role in this regard and to act together?? to address the challenges of our planet. ??Our bilateral development agenda,? especially the current phase of China-Pakistan economic corridor, aligns with the vision of green silk road and focused on high quality development, ??paying close attention to environmental protection. Pakistan on its part, also stays committed?? to play its duo role in undertaking proactive climate action.? We were also the proud?? global host of last year's world environment d?eal which carried special significance as it formally launched the United Nations systems,? a system for eco restoration 2021-2030. This reflects our commitment?? to counter environmental degradation and reversing biodiversity loss. We are ready to contribute more than our share to protect our invaluable planet and help it? heal from centuries of neglect.
I once again commend the organizers for hosting this event. I wish it a complete success.
