According to the information disclosure reply from the Hebei Forestry and Grassland Bureau: Hebei Quantai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. sold Jilin Province Henghe Weikang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Manis gigantea scales with 100 kg of Liyanling tablets from Beijing Shengshixing Cultural Development Co., Ltd.

Anguo Juyaotang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. sold 800 kilograms of Manis gigantea scales to Sichuan Gukang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. for use in the processing of tablets of Tang County Chinese Medicine Hospital. The 800 kg Manis gigantea scales of Anguo Juyaotang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. also come from Beijing Shengshi Xingwen Cultural Development Co., Ltd.

The 750 kg Manis tricuspis scales used by Sinopharm Lerentang Hebei Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. for the production of 130,000 bags of vinegar scales was from Guangzhou Zhongliang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. The pangolin scales of Guangzhou Zhongliang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. were acquired from Luoding Chengshan Trading Co., Ltd. The pangolin scales of Luoding Chengshan Trading Co., Ltd. were imported from DRC.

In other words, this year, Beijing Shengshi Xingwen Cultural Development Co., Ltd. sold 900 kg of African pangolin scales to two domestic pharmaceutical companies (Hebei Quantai Pharmaceutical and Anguo Juyaotang Pharmaceutical). Under the CITES convention, how so many African pangolin scales enter the country, and whether the source is legal, needs further confirmation. However, even if there are legal sources, the use of these African pangolin scales for Chinese patent medicines and Chinese medicines has completely failed to meet the requirements of the Chinese medicine ingredients used in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia, and can be regarded as "fake medicine".

The CBCGDF pangolin working group checked the background of this cultural company and found that it is located in the Haidian District of Beijing. After three revisions of its business scope, it is now "processing ivory, horns, bamboo and wood carving crafts. (Limited to branch operations) Organizational Culture and Art Exchange activities (excluding business performances); undertaking exhibition and display activities; sales of cultural goods, daily necessities, arts and crafts; economic and trade consulting; import and export of goods, import and export of technology, import and export of agents. After the department approves, carry out business activities in accordance with the approved content. " The business scope cannot show that it has any legal relationship with the importation and utilization of pangolin and its products.
