On August 26, 2018, a "plogging" activity was carried out on Ngong Hills. It was organized by CBCGDF African Environment and Peace Observation Group, TUNZA Africa International Volunteer, Children’s Garden Home & School in Nairobi (a non-profit agency providing basic education for local orphans). Around 60 people attended. 1000 plastic bottles and 10 bags of non-recyclable waste were collected.

"Plogging", the "coolest fitness activity” on social media worldwide, is a combination of plucking and jogging. With a bag and a pair of gloves, you can collect waste and put them in the bag when jogging. What a healthy and environment-friendly way of doing sports!

During the event, the kids from the Children’s Garden Home & School were educated on environmental protection and taught on how to classify waste and identify toxic and harmful waste. This event also called for local Chinese communities to donate sports equipment to schools to enrich their outdoor activities. It showed that everyone could contribute to the "Green Belt and Road”. Education is a good way to build tighter ties between the Chinese and Kenyan people.

Instructors attending this event are from China. They are Huang Wanying, founder of TUNZA Africa International Volunteer and Zhu Qing, founder of CBCGDF's American Center.
