During the meeting, Chairman Xie Boyang introduced the basic functions and work of CBCGDF. Focusing on the sustainable development of water resources and how new technologies can assist the government to apply GEP (Gross Ecosystem Product), XIE Boyang put forward his view on how to reach convertibility between GDP and GEP. He stressed that the fundamental goal of GEP accounting is to protect ecology, and the core purpose of ecological protection is to protect biodiversity. Although there are some practical cases in China, it still needs to be further improved, and GEP accounting is an important starting point for China to carry out the construction of ecological civilization. CBCGDF has successively participated in ecosystem services such as GEP accounting in Xing'anmeng in Inner Mongolia, Pu'er in Yunnan and other places.

As for how the green innovation technology of sewage treatment can assist in GEP accounting and other ecosystem work, XIE Boyang believes that water is the most important thing in the ecosystem, and we can take the lead in the accounting for sewage treatment, wetland management, and environmental protection. CBCGDF has long been concerned about and participated in the systematic construction of green development and environmental governance, and has formulated a number of group standards for ecological civilization construction and green enterprises, so that CBCGDF can actively explore cooperation and carry out subject research with SANYOU Environmental Protection Company on how to improve the efficiency of environmental governance in China through biotechnology.
