Third Extraordinary COP concluded recently with important decisions for the Convention and China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), as its observer, has been committed to promoting China’s deep participation in global environmental governance and protecting the sustainable development of wetland habitats, and the International Department of CBCGDF is now sharing the important resolutions issued by the Convention on November 4 after this session as follows.

The Third Extraordinary session of the Conference of the Parties was held for the first time virtually and adopted new dates of 21- 29 November 2022 for the 14th Meeting of the Conference of the Contracting Parties (COP14) to be held in Wuhan, China.   

The COP also approved the 2022 budget, thus ensuring the continued operations of the Convention.

The two Resolutions adopted are the following:

- Resolution ExCOP3.1 Postponement of the 14th Meeting of the Conference of the Contracting Parties (COP14) sets new dates of 21 – 29 November 2022 for COP14 to be held in Wuhan China.

- Resolution ExCOP3.2 Financial and budgetary matters: The 2022 core budget of the Convention on Wetlands provides an approved 2022 budget for the operation of the Convention.
