On March 31, during the COVID19 pandemic, the CBCGDF research team & volunteers went to the ecological red line area of the Oyster Reef National Marine Special Reserve in Dashentang, Tianjin. Near the habitat of migratory birds, they found that many local villagers were fishing on off-nets, disregarding the ecological red line, and people fought for migratory birds, which seriously affected the local ecology.

At the same time, a group of people went to a beach in Tianjin Bingang New Area, where the migratory bird relict gulls were mainly located. Investigations have found that there are people fishing for shrimp, clams and shellfish on the beach every day.

In the area around the beach, a large number of vans are waiting to pick up goods every day. Villagers' wild fishing in the local area has become a norm there.

Many villagers use fishing nets, fishing gear, household nets, ground cages, clam boats, etc. to carry out illegal fishing operations without supervision; garbage is everywhere, which seriously damages the surrounding ecological environment. The port has a large number of cage nets, and there are a large number of illegal buildings near the coastline, and illegal fishponds are destroying the beach environment. The staff of the Green Society observed that after the fishermen's fishing operation was completed, the catch was sold on the spot for 20 yuan and 300 yuan, starting at 8 am and ending at 12 noon. It was worrying without supervision.
