On February 24, 2023, the Working Committee on Biological and Scientific Ethics of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) and Institute for Animal Rule of Law affiliated to Zhongnan University of Economics and Law held a seminar concerning the revision to Charity Law of the People’s Republic of China with the theme of charitable donation and animal protection for the public benefit. Here are the takeaways from the seminar:
I. Animal charity should be integrated into Charity Law during the revision for the co-existence between man and nature.
II. Development of the rule of law of public health in China requires protection and ethical treatment of animals.
