The China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) is preparing a handbook on sustainable eating for the upcoming "EAT Stockholm Food Forum 2019" in June this year. At that time, Dr. Zhou, Secretary-General of the CBCGDF, will co-chair the Sub-Forum on Agriculture and Biodiversity with Ms. Cristiana Pasca Palmer, Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), and Ms. Marie Haga, Director-General of The Crop Trust, and will exchange relevant contents of the handbook, and then analyze it. There is still insufficient understanding of the mutually reinforcing links between climate change, land use, biodiversity and sustainable development of human society. IPBES recently released the most comprehensive assessment (IPBES Assessment Report). Professor Josef Settele said that "The indispensable and interconnected networks of life on Earth are becoming smaller and more fragile. Such losses are a direct consequence of human activities and pose a direct threat to human well-being in the world." (Note 1) Agriculture and biodiversity are inseparable from climate change and sustainable development of human society. Ms. Marie Haga, Director-General of The Crop Trust, is highly concerned about the use of genetic technology to solve food security problems and build a better human home through biodiversity research. Ms. Marie Haga has been hoping to build a national gene bank in China to promote crop diversity and global food security (note 2). At the same time, we can promote effective collaboration across different fields, regions, and countries. It is also a key factor to determine whether the goals of nature conservation, sustainable development, and Aichi target can be achieved. As Cristiana Pasca Palmer, Executive Secretary of CBD, said at the closing of the #IPBES7 conference, "We are also actively convinced that through innovation, creativity, and partnership, as well as hard work, we can find solutions." It is hoped that CBCGDF shares the handbook on sustainable eating with delegates at the EAT Food Forum and introduce the contents of sustainable eating. Experts, scholars, business representatives and individuals concerned about the future development of agriculture and food. They will be able to exchange needs, learn from each other's strengths and make up for each other's weaknesses. The contents of Sustainable eating handbook are summarized as follows:

(3) Chapter 3: CBCGDF’s Good Food Fund, is dedicated to research, information dissemination, policy advocacy, activity organization, public education and so on. Those related to the food system in order to promote healthy and sustainable food production, marketing and consumption patterns, thereby improving human health, the natural environment and the living conditions of animals. The Good Food Fund has organized a series of activities such as "New Year's menu", "Climate-friendly eating" and "eating culture exchanges", jointly with domestic and foreign good food experts, to popularize good food concept among enterprises and consumers, and to promote sustainable and healthy eating.

(4) Chapter 4: "CBCGDF's other efforts at sustainable eating", including "CBCGDF Campus Food Saving Action", "Choosing Local Food" Education, "Concern about Food and Drug Safety" Bill and Environmental Public Welfare Litigation, "Sustainable eating Fundraising Project", and "Call for Biodiversity to be Considered in the Electronic Commerce Law". For example, among college students and adolescents, the CBCGDF has launched the initiative of "not wasting every grain". It has organized a series of projects such as "saving is environmental protection" for children's public welfare painting and environmental protection knowledge contest for college students, which deeply roots the consciousness of saving. CBCGDF is committed to encouraging consumers to choose local food, reducing energy consumption caused by food production, packaging, and transportation, as well as environmental pollution in this process. In view of the increasing safety problems of food and drug, CBCGDF recommends that the National People's Congress (NPC) authorize social organizations to conduct public interest litigations in the field of food and drug. "Princess Pangolin" and other eating pangolin incidents have been exposed, the CBCGDF "Endangered Species Fund" first called for protection action against these behaviors of illegal hunting and trafficking. The CBCGDF suggests that consumers' green options should be reflected in their e-commerce responsibilities. The new law should consider the contents that have not been covered at present on the basis of the existing legal spirit. With the rapid development of e-commerce, the new law should be more predictable and able to guide the future.

At the upcoming EAT food forum, in addition to sharing CBCGDF’s Sustainable eating handbook, and will also communicate with Ms. Cristina Pasca Palmer and Ms. Marie Haga on CBD CoP15 and establish a strategic partnership with The Crop Trust.
