CBCGDF Deputy Secretary General Participated in China-Japan High-Level Expert Symposium on “Zero-emission Growth” of Sakura Science Program

At the invitation of the Embassy of Japan in China, the Deputy Secretary General of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) participated in China-Japan High-Level Expert Symposium on “Zero-emission Growth” of Sakura Science Program which was held on September 21, 2022. The conference is co-sponsored by the Department of Foreign Expert Services of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the Sakura Science Program of Japan Science and Technology Agency.

"The Sakura Science Program is an international exchange program started in 2014, aiming to provide opportunities for outstanding young people in Asia to conduct comprehensive science and technology exchanges with scientists and researchers in various frontier fields, and to strengthen friendly relations between Japan and overseas countries and regions.

The China-Japan High-Level Expert Symposium on Zero-emission Growth consisted of three sessions of thematic discussions: Zero-emission Transportation Zero-emission Technologies for Urban-rural HabitatThe Zero Emission Roadmap of Urban-rural Development and Transportation, which were followed by panel discussions.

 

The experts are from Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, China Society of Urban Science, China Macroeconomic Research Institute, Kyoto University, Waseda University, Tohoku University, and Architectural Institute of Japan,etc.

 

Zero carbon emissions is one of the greatest challenges for human beings, which requires us to radically change the way we produced, consumed and acted in the past. A growing number of countries, cities, companies and institutions are committing to net zero emissions, and more than 70 countries have set net zero targets.

CBCGDF has long been committed to biodiversity conservation and green development. CBCGDF’s Low Carbon Workshop Working Group aims to reduce carbon emission by promoting low carbon workshops, and as a green development demonstration, to encourage the wide participation of all sectors of society.
