World Standards Day is an international day celebrated each year on October 14 in memory of the founding of the International Standards Organization (ISO). World Standards Day aims to raise awareness among regulators, industry, and consumers as to the importance of standardization to the global economy. It is a gift for thousands of volunteers around the globe in the field of standardization.

China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) has been committed to the standards-making work on biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.

On June 20, 2019, CBCGDF published the Green Meeting Index (GMI) with standard number T/CGDF 00001 to measure the sustainability of conferences and exhibitions. The GMI with the core value of the Green Development put forward at the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China evaluates meetings and exhibitions from paper use, biodiversity, energy consumption, and multiple aspects.
