Recently, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, the Secretary-General of CBCGDF met with the Procurator-General of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and introduced the recent CBCGDF’s learning the spirit of the Central Economic Working Conference, including the combination of understanding the spirit of the conference and the work of environmental public interest litigation (EPIL), green development, ecological civilization and other fields.

 

On December 19, 2018, the Central Economic Working Conference was held. The General Secretary summarized the economic work in 2018 and the seven key tasks for economic work in 2019. The Conference also further clarified the contents of deepening reform and opening up, accelerating green development, and participating in the reform of the global economic governance system.

 

The year 2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China, it is a crucial year for building a well-off society in an all-around way. It is vital to do a good job in economic work. How to achieve high-quality development in 2019, CBCGDF has carried out the in-depth reflection from the areas of EPIL, green development, and ecological civilization construction. In the meeting with the Procurator-General of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Dr. Zhou also introduced the relevant work carried out by CBCGDF in the above-mentioned areas and strengthened mutual understanding.

 

At the same time, Dr. Zhou also introduced to the Procurator-General the “Selection of Environmental Public Interest Litigation Cases” (2018 Volume.) just completed by CBCGDF. The “Cases Selection” is one of the contents of the environmental rights and interests maintenance project of the Ministry of Ecological Environment, which CBCGDF undertakes. This project aims to provide legal services for environmental public interest litigation (EPIL) practices and conduct related research. The “Cases Selection” brings together environmental civil public interest litigation, environmental administrative public interest litigation, and marine environmental public interest litigation cases involving social organizations, procuratorates, etc., as well as related laws and regulations. Among them, dozens of experts, scholars, prosecutors, and judges commented on the selected public interest litigation cases. Hu Deping, the chairman of CBCGDF, specially prefaced the "Cases Selection" and explained it from the perspective of the times.

 

This meeting laid the foundation for further in-depth communication and cooperation between the two sides.
