In order to implement the spirit of the country’s important instructions on the packaging of moon cakes and curb illegal activities involving excessive packaging of moon cakes, after continuous investigation and evidence collection, the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) has also been appraised by a qualified inspection agency: A certain century-old brand moon cake is indeed has a situation of excessive packaging.

On September 22, the CBCGDF formally submitted the litigation materials to the court by mail and filed an environmental public interest litigation (EPIL) against the mooncake company of this brand.

With the advent of the National Day + Mid-Autumn Festival's "Double Festival" holiday, the sales of various moon cake gift boxes on the market have continued to rise, and at the same time, excessive packaging chaos has occurred frequently.

CBCGDF will continue to follow up and investigate the problem of excessive packaging by enterprises, supervise related illegal activities, and welcome the public to provide relevant information to jointly promote standardized moon cake packaging.
