On August 21, the Beijing Municipal People's Procuratorate held the "Beijing Procuratorate and Social Organization Public Interest Litigation Symposium." China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) representative was invited to participate and gave a speech.

Participants at the symposium came from the Eighth Procuratorate Department of the Beijing Municipal People’s Procuratorate and the Fourth Procuratorate Department of the Fourth Branch of the Beijing People’s Procuratorate. Representatives of social organizations cover environmental and resource protection, food and drug safety, consumer rights protection, Internet technology and other fields.

The symposium was presided over by the director of the Eighth Prosecution Department of the Beijing Municipal People’s Procuratorate, and introduced the procuratorial work of Beijing’s public interest litigation, and the "Public interest litigation to protect a better life special supervision activities implementation plan."

The CBCGDF representative introduced the current work of public interest protection activities, focusing on the investigation of red-crowned crane breeding in Changping District, the construction of Nanyuan Wetland Park, and the problem of excessive packaging.

It is hoped to have more cooperation with the Beijing Municipal Procuratorate in these aspects, so as to protect public interests and jointly contribute to the construction of ecological civilization.
