On the July 15th and 16th, 2021, the smoking control team of CBCGDF took K41 and Y536 trains between Beijing and Zhangjiakou respectively to check the implementation of the previous mediation agreement of "smoke-free train" public interest litigation that CBCGDF sued National Railway Corporation. The investigation was broadcast live on Weibo and other social media platform of CBCGDF.

According to the mediation agreement:

1、 China Railway Lanzhou Bureau Group Co., Ltd. will cancel the smoking area in k41 / K42 express passenger train within 15 days after the mediation letter comes into effect, and take appropriate measures such as shielding, blocking and transforming the ashtray to cancel the smoking area, and do not set up smoking devices, and cancel the signs of smoking area to control smoking;

2、 China Railway Beijing Bureau Group Co., Ltd. will cancel the smoking area in y535 / y536 tourist train within 15 days after the mediation comes into effect, and take appropriate measures such as shielding, blocking and transforming the ashtray to cancel it, and do not set up smoking devices, and cancel the smoking area signs to control smoking.

After the investigation, it was found that: China Railway Lanzhou Bureau and China Railway Beijing Bureau had cancelled the smoking areas in k41 / K42 and y535 / y536 tourist trains respectively, and cancelled the ashtray by shielding, plugging, transformation and other appropriate ways, and did not set up smoking devices, and cancelled the signs of smoking areas to control smoking.

At the entrance of k41 carriage, the conductor always reminds the car not to smoke.（Figure 1-2）

The smoking control action of CBCGDF has achieved remarkable results. At the same time, , the smoking control team of CBCGDF praised the implementation of smoking control by China Railway Lanzhou Bureau and China Railway Beijing Bureau, and called on more trains to achieve "smoke-free" and effectively protect the health of passengers.
