2020/8/11 11:34:00 本站

The National College Student Blue Camp is jointly organized by the environmental protection organizations of Ocean University of China, Xiamen University, Dalian Maritime University, Hainan University and other universities. It recruits campers from Chinese universities every summer and is a summer camp for marine environmental protection practices.

China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) has long been committed to biodiversity conservation and sustainable development. In China’s Hainan Province, there is a mangrove nature reserve with the largest area, the most complete variety and the most complete preservation.

The National Blue Camp for College Students in 2020 is guided by the CBCGDF, with the theme "Protecting Marine Forests, Youth in Action". The content will include the early team establishment and the communication, training and field investigation of the members, as well as the later publicity.

The Blue Camp will be on the east coastline of Hainan Island’s Dongzhaigang in Haikou City, Qinglangang in Wenchang City, Bamen Bay, Shimei Bay in Wanning City, Fenjiezhou Island, and Tielugang in Haitang Bay of Sanya City, Qingmeigang in Yalong Bay and Sanya River to carry out field investigations.

Based on the understanding of the mangrove forest changes in Hainan Island and its management and protection measures, this group of contemporary young college students use their own practical actions to influence the surrounding and even the society's attention and thinking on mangrove ecological protection.

CBCGDF and other public welfare environmental protection volunteer associations and relevant government departments will provide guidance and support to guide young college students more professionally through field visits, inspections, experiences, research practices, and documentary filming on the east coast of Hainan Island, advocating to the public, education about the environment, the dissemination of new media and other colorful series of activities. Work with partner institutions to protect mangroves through scientific methods, and at the same time encourage local people to participate in the protection of mangroves.
