As practitioners and promoters of the development of ecological civilization, youth are the main force of wildlife conservation and sustainable development. On the morning of September 17th, Mr. Huang Hongxiang, founder and CEO of China House, visited the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) to discuss future cooperation issues such as youth education with Secretary-General Zhou Jinfeng of the CBCGDF.

Mr. Huang Hongxiang introduced the recent overseas research project of China House. Founded in 2014 in Kenya, China House is a social enterprise aimed at helping Chinese youth go global and build their dreams. China House hopes to cultivate a generation of young people with international vision, global competitiveness, world citizenship and the vision of "Chinese Global Citizen", who can help China integrate into the global sustainable development. China House focuses on youth education and has carried out overseas research projects in Kenya, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Cambodia and other dozens of countries. Leading more than 100 young students to understand the local culture in-depth and exploring the three major issues about “Chinese enterprises going out, wildlife conservation, and sustainable community development” to promote global sustainable development.

Secretary-General Zhou Jinfeng highlighted the recent focus of the work of the CBCGDF. As a leading social organization dedicated to ecological and environmental protection, the CBCGDF is organizing a case database of eco-environmental issues along the route of “Belt and Road”, aiming at helping Chinese enterprises to avoid ecological risks, and also has been paying close attention of how to achieve “Green Belt and Road”, and “Ecological Belt and Road” in order to promote sustainable development. Secretary Zhou Jinfeng earnestly invited China House to compile their overseas field research experience and put it into CBCGDF’s case database of the “Green Belt and Road” area, hoping to enrich the case database by virtue of China House's practical field experience, summarize excellent project experience and promote the stable and long-term development of "Belt and Road" project.

Besides, Secretary-General Zhou Jinfeng introduced the "Species Finder N Program" (tentative name) being prepared by the CBCGDF. Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) is the largest and most influential biodiversity information service network in the world. By integrating the existing biodiversity databases in the world, a service network of global biodiversity comprehensive information is formed for users all over the world, to promote biodiversity research, conservation, and sustainable utilization. At present, GBIF can provide users with massive biodiversity data information services. As an Official Data Publisher of GBIF, the CBCGDF is the only non-governmental environmental protection organization in China that can upload species information directly after the scientific screening. By encouraging "young citizen scientists" to advocate biodiversity conservation, the CBCGDF will help upload the information for the species that the scientist first discovered (Latin name of species, photographs of species characteristics, longitude and latitude of discovery) to the GBIF platform and issue certificates to discoverers in order to encourage "young scientists" to participate in the global biodiversity conservation.

Every year, many outstanding young students go to Asian, African and Latin American countries through the project platform of China House to conduct field research, summarize project results and prepare research reports. The CBCGDF looks forward to working with China House to encourage young people to more pay attention to environmental issues and strengthen their participation in global ecological civilization governance. The two sides reached consensus on relevant issues and will gradually carry out relevant cooperation.
