Recently, China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) formally joined the Belt and Road Life Science Economy Alliance (LSEA).

In February 2019, the State Council issued the outline of the development plan for the Great Bay area of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau, and explicitly proposed to support the establishment of the Belt and Road Life Science Economy Alliance relying on the China National Gene Bank in Shenzhen. The alliance adheres to the spirit of "peace and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual benefit spirit" to promote life science innovation, international cooperation, and industrial development, and benefit the Guangdong, Hongkong, and Macau, and the Belt and Road countries and regions.

The "Belt and Road" Initiative biodiversity plan is one of the three major projects of the alliance planning. CBCGDF has been committed to biodiversity conservation and global environmental governance for a long time. It has advocated biodiversity-friendly production and lifestyle. It has been making positive contributions to the promotion of the "Ecological Belt and Road Initiative" environmental protection and sustainable development.
