On November 6, 2019, local time, the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) representative had successfully arrived in Islamabad, Pakistan, and participated in the Session I of the IUCN Asia Regional Conservation Forum (RCF) on the morning.

The Session provided an overview of IUCN’s Vision and what this means for the Asia Region, as well as Pakistan’s conservation priorities.

A video was shown during the meeting titled “We are the generations”. Then President Zhang Xinsheng delivered a keynote. He talked about RCF and global trends and importance in Asia. He mentioned that Asia's contribution accounts for 60% of the world's economic growth, Asia's population accounts for 60% of the world, and by 2050, the population is expected to exceed 5 billion. Asia is the region with the most biodiversity, and new species are discovered at any time. Asia’s influence in the global market is also gradually expanding. These are the reasons why Asia plays an important role in nature conservation.

IUCN Acting Director General Dr. Grethel Aguilar delivered a speech on Vision for IUCN. She said that IUCN's vision and goals are more important than ever. She introduced the composition of IUCN, emphasizing that when people talk about IUCN, they must pay attention to IUCN Asia.
